PTWMA Overview
Private Treaty Wool Merchants of Australia Inc. (PTWMA) was formed in 1971 and represents the interests of merchants buying wool directly from growers.
PTWMA Members are located in most states of Australia and are there to assist woolgrowers with selling wool forward on the sheep's back, on farm at shearing, on farm by tender or on consignment at store door. PTWMA also service small holdings, hobby farmers and pet owners of sheep.
PTWMA has developed and promoted a standard Private Treaty Contract which has been welcomed and supported by all wool grower groups.
PTWMA is recognised by Government and other wool industry sectors as being the national representative voice for private treaty wool trading and keeps its members informed on the latest news in the wool industry.
It is also a member of most major wool industry bodies.
Meetings are held on a regular basis and new members are always welcome.
